Mike's Story... "My upbringing as a "PK" profoundly shaped me. While I once resisted the expectations, I now deeply value the spiritual foundation and principles instilled through Dad's ministry. His dedication to the Lord and his calling to TBC opened countless opportunities and guided my life's path.
For over fifty years, TBC has been my spiritual home. I've had the privilege of serving in numerous roles, from Sunday School teacher to deacon, and I'm eager to continue contributing, particularly in administrative capacities. I'm especially passionate about making new visitors feel welcome and helping them find their place within our TBC family."
Dave's Story... "I was born and raised in Tyrone PA. Jesus saved me at the age of 9 after hearing the Gospel at Calvary Baptist Church in Tyrone and the testimony of my dear mother. I attended the College of William and Mary graduating in 1975 with a BA in kinesiology. Upon graduating, I started my first job as a teacher of health and physical education in Jersey Shore PA where I met my beautiful wife Janet. We were married in November of 1976. We have 3 adult children Benjamin, Mary Beth, and Mark, as well as 5 granddaughters and 3 great grandchildren."
Dave has taught Sunday School, served as deacon/elder and led Awana programs at multiple local churches and began his role serving as a Pastor of Education and Visitation here at Tipton in 2025. He also enjoys serving musically by leading music weekly and singing with the choir.
"I am honored to serve as the Children's Ministry Director at Tipton Baptist Church. For many years, I had the privilege of serving as the Director of our Daycare and Preschool Program, where I enjoyed working with children and their families. After retiring from that role in June 2025, I had the opportunity to continue investing in the lives of the children of our church through this ministry.
As a longtime member of Tipton Baptist Church, I am grateful for the opportunity to help children learn about God's love and grow in their faith."
